Introducing Cloud Agents: Kilo Code, Anywhere
Run Kilo Code from any device—no local machine required.
For months, we’ve watched developers build incredible things with Kilo Code. We’ve shipped features, squashed bugs, and learned from our community what agentic engineering actually looks like in practice.
Now we’re taking it further.
What if Kilo Code didn’t need your local machine at all? What if you could open a browser from any device and just start building?
Now you can.
Cloud Agents
Cloud Agents let you run Kilo Code in the cloud from any device, without relying on your local machine. Open a browser, pick a repo, and start working. Your phone. Your tablet. A borrowed laptop at a coffee shop. It doesn’t matter.
You get an isolated Linux container with common dev tools preinstalled. Python, Node.js, git, the usual suspects. Everything you need to hit the ground running.
Connect to any of your GitHub repositories directly from the Kilo Dashboard. Cloud Agents will clone your repo, create a unique branch, and inject your environment variables automatically. Then you just start chatting with Kilo Code like you always have.
The difference? Every change gets committed and pushed as you work. Nothing lives only on your machine. Nothing gets lost.
Built Around Your Workflow
We designed Cloud Agents to feel familiar, not like learning a new tool.
Auto-commits keep you safe.
After every message, Cloud Agents look for file changes, commit them, and push to your session’s branch. You never have to remember to save your work. It’s already on GitHub.
Environment variables and secrets just work.
Add API keys, config flags, whatever your project needs. Toggle something as a secret and we’ll handle it appropriately. Your credentials stay protected.
Startup commands shape your workspace.
Need to install dependencies before Kilo Code gets to work? Run a setup script? Bootstrap some tooling? Define your startup commands once and they run automatically when your session begins.
Sessions stay organized.
Each session gets its own workspace directory and its own branch. Work on multiple things without stepping on yourself.
What You Can Do With This
Cloud Agents open up workflows that weren’t possible before.
Remote debugging. Something’s broken in production and you’re away from your desk. Pull up Kilo Code’s debug mode from your phone and start investigating.
Explore unfamiliar codebases. Inherited a legacy project? Let Cloud Agents clone it into a sandbox where you can poke around without touching your local environment.
Brainstorm on the go. Use architect mode to think through a design while you’re on the train, in a waiting room, or anywhere inspiration strikes.
Offload the tedious stuff. Automated refactors. Tech debt cleanup. Batch updates across files. Kick them off and let Cloud Agents do the work while you focus on something else.
Pricing
To celebrate our launch, Cloud Agent compute is free during this limited launch period. However, Kilo Credits are still used for AI reasoning, as in the IDE and CLI.
We want feedback. Tell us what’s working, what’s not, and what you wish it could do. Drop into our Cloud Agents Discord channel and let us know.
Getting Started
If you’re already using Kilo Code:
Connect GitHub. Head to the Integrations tab in your dashboard and configure your GitHub account if you haven’t already.
Select a repository. Pick the repo you want to work with.
Configure your environment. Add any environment variables or startup commands you need.
Start chatting. That’s it. Kilo Code is now running in the cloud.
Your work pushes to GitHub automatically. Nothing to remember, nothing to lose.
What This Means
You can now run Kilo Code from anywhere. Your desk, your couch, or a plane at 35,000 feet. In the past, your machine was a constraint. Now, the constraint is gone.
Cloud Agents joins a lineup of recent releases that include Kilo Deploy and Code Reviews, meaning that now, your Kilo workflow looks like this:
Try It Now
Cloud Agents are available today for all Kilo Code users. Connect your GitHub account, pick a repo, and start building from wherever you are.
Then, tell us about it!
Share what you’re building on X, drop into our Discord, or reply to this post. We want to see what becomes possible when Kilo Code can go anywhere you go.
Your next session is waiting. Start one from your phone, just because you can!
