Big Kilo fan here, and I recommended it to multiple people. I hate the new version. I'd be happy to keep using 5.x as is, forever, if you can do bare minimum support to it. Ie. add Deepseek v4 flash and pro (they just released it) RooCode is also shutting down, that was my 2nd choice. So it's looking that me and many others will have to return to Cline. Which is sad, because Kilo was so damn good.
Sorry to hear the v7 extension isn't quite meeting your needs. Can you provide some insight into what you are missing? We are working to fix some of the bugs as well as to improve the ability to more tightly oversee/manage what the agent is doing. That is our key focus for next week.
