I think somehow I was lucky with fate... my Max sub was set to renew hours the night before that change went live, for no particular reason I chose to cancel it, sleep on it and maybe wait a couple days to decide to bring it back. After seeing the news last night, and being affected on a totally different continent to NA, I resubbed to Kimi. I'm not going to pay any more "frontier US labs" if what I pay for is at risk daily by a regime ruled by a Caligula style government of random contradictory policies. I trust in the Chinese labs to want to benefit progress more in the long run and I feel China views them as one of their strongest exports (and imports as they gain data from people using them).
I use a similar approach. Typically MiMo 2.5 Pro does the spec driven planning and MiMo 2.5 does the implementation. Or previously Opus for planning and Sonnet for implementation. That works very well for typical features.
