I've heard the best open source Chinese models are 2.7% worse than Claude.
So pay 10-50 times more for a 2.7% improvement?
Doesn't sound like a smart business decision to me.
Especially when you can run those open source models are your own hardware.
It is not a smart idea to pay at all. Then even provide them with out data? Why choose between two surveillance States?
Exactly. Run a Chinese model on your own hardware. Or an American open source model.
These days I'd rather run an Iranian model - if they had one - since they seem to be smarter than either of the other two.
